Committed to Sustainablity and Green Measures
The Village at Coorparoo remains committed to conserving the natural beauty of our existing vegetation with special consideration going to the established landscaping already on site. One of the features of this site is the existing trees and landscaping.
Environmentally Sustainable Design principles will be implemented throughout all aspects of the design and building process. Sustainability measures will include the implementation of rainwater harvesting, passive and active solar design and other energy saving measures.
In addition to the strong focus on the reduction of energy costs for which the savings will be passed on to the residents, The Village at Coorparoo will ensure all materials selected for use in the Village have inherent sustainability characteristics.
During the demolition of the existing Xavier Hospital and Conference Centre all roof timbers were painstakingly removed to be used for recycled timber. In addition all concrete floor slabs were removed and delivered to a recycled concrete plant. These measures were implemented to ensure that even the demolition of existing buildings follows our sustainability objectives. |
